Shakopee Derby Days 2008 Soap Box Derby
Join a Shakopee Derby Days tradition of racing and fun!
The Shakopee Derby Days Soap Box Derby will be held at its new location at Huber Park on Saturday, August 2nd, starting at 3 PM. Registration begins at 2 PM ($5.00 entrance fee).
Males and females from ages 5 through adult may participate. Soapbox car kits can be purchased for $35 at Ace Hardware. Any modifications to original construction must participate in the open class. Prizes will be awarded to winners of each age category.
Rules and Regulations
- Forms must have parent's signature.
- Drivers must wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts.
- HELMETS MUST BE WORN.
- Age 5 will begin below the ramp (if needed).
- Some cars are available for use day of the race.
- Each racer will have one trial and one timed run.
- Judges' decisions are final.
This event is organized by the Shakopee Derby Days Committee and the SHS Cheerleaders.
