Miss Shakopee 2008
The Miss Shakopee Scholarship Program is excited to start accepting applications for 2008 candidates! The Miss Shakopee Scholarship Program is a non-profit organization that serves as public relations ambassadors throughout the community of Shakopee and the state of Minnesota.
There are three age levels for ambassadors. They are: Little Miss Shakopee (aged 5-8), Jr. Miss Shakopee (aged 14-16), and Miss Shakopee (aged 17-20). Candidates must fit in one of the age categories by July 29th, 2008 or receive an exception by the program director.
Candidates will participate in fun activities and rehearsals starting in late May which lead up to the Shakopee Derby Days and the Little Miss Shakopee Pageant on Thursday July 31st and the Miss Shakopee Scholarship Pageant on August 10th, 2008. Candidate rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays in July, with other candidate events scheduled in June and July.
Each candidate is responsible for paying a $25 application fee and finding a sponsor for the pageant. The sponsorship fee for Little Miss candidates is $30. Jr. Miss and Miss Candidate sponsor fee is $275. Candidates will receive help from the program if they are having trouble finding a sponsor. Together, these funds pay for the candidate experience and the pageant.
Applications to be a 2008 candidate must be received by June 13, 2008.
