Shakopee Derby Days 2009 5K Turf Run

Race Info
Race like a thoroughbred! This 5K starts and ends on the Canterbury Park turf racetrack. Runners burst from the horse starting gate and run on grass, both on the (6-inch high) turf racetrack and on a cross-country style course outside the track. The finish line is at the horse race finish line on the turf track in front of the grandstand. Post-race awards will be presented, and photos will be taken in the Winner's Circle. This is a fun, unique course (90% grass) – great T-shirts. In the event of heavy rain, runners will not be allowed on the turf horse track.
Activities
- 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. – BODYPUMP (space limited – sign up at Gold's Gym Shakopee)
- 9:30 a.m. – 5K Turf Run
- 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Gold's Gym Open House (everyone is invited)
- 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. – Yoga/race-specific stretching for all turf runners (at Gold's Gym Shakopee)
Entry Fee/Registration
$15 pre-registration fee (through July 24, 2009, $20 thereafter). Race day registrations accepted from 7:45 to 9 AM at Canterbury Park. All entry fees are non-refundable. Make check payable to: Shakopee Derby Days.

Parking
The nearest parking will be found in area "F".
T-Shirts
T-shirts will be provided on race day for all runners registered by the July 24, 2009 deadline. T-shirts will be mailed to late and race-day registrants.
Awards
Medals will be awarded to male and female first- through third-place finishers in each age group:
- 14 & under
- 15 – 19
- 20 – 29
- 30 – 39
- 40 – 49
- 50 – 59
- 60 & over
Results
Results will be posted online at the Shakopee Derby Days Event Winners Web page.
